As the world is moving through a challenging life chapter in the collective, we are moving into an inspired life chapter. One way we are choosing this new life chapter is by launching a preview of this new website; one that is in service to the collective. We are doing this during a month that holds significance to our family.
The month of June has a few important dates for us but there is one date we will never forget. Unlike most monthly dates that are revered and recognized around the world, this month’s date of significance is not associated with loss, assaults, wars, violence, death or destruction; it is a date associated with celebration and life.
This month, many decades ago, a dearly beloved’s beautiful bright light came into the world. We chose June as the month of this year to “birth” this website into being not only to honor and celebrate our loved one’s birth on Earth, but to also serve as a gentle reminder for others: Rather than continually recognizing dates of loss, trauma, pain or death, we can choose to recognize the dates and times that were once causes for celebration. We can choose to honor our loved ones long after their physical life has ended, no matter how terrible the tragedy.

Unfortunately, our family’s story is just one of countless across every continent, clime and place on this planet. But we are one family who is flipping the script. Rather than focusing on how our loved one left this world, we are consciously choosing to remember her entire life. Much like how an individual/person or pet cannot be summed up in one word, choice, action, or traumatic event, how a friend, colleague, stranger, or loved one was attacked or taken from this world is not the whole of who they are. Traumatic events do not define who we are.
Its’ been 30 years since the event that changed us all forever. Our family is finally learning how empowerment and peace comes when we consciously choose to focus on what we want to experience now.
We now focus on the light our loved one brought with her into the world, instead of how she left the world. We focus on how she still lives within us and fervently watches over us instead of how her life ended. We now choose to focus on the life she lived, instead of the death she had.
Dolores was (and is) exponentially greater than the incident that took her from her home, this Earth, her friends, colleagues, and her human and fur family. She is not what happened to her. The death day is but one point on a timeline of one’s entire life. A traumatic event does define us. What we choose to embody and embrace now does. This the immeasurable power of our conscious choice point.

It is the way of the world to remember and repeat the pattern of pain in its myriad of forms. From news to neural patterns, the inner and outer world tends to remember and recognize the worst events while forgetting the best ones. This has always been the way of the world. Yet all this does is keep humanity stuck in cycles of struggle, looping through painful experiences.
Thankfully, we are entering into a new world and a new way of being, where we each have the power to choose a new pathway of peace and empowerment. We, as a collective, can come together to create new paths – physically, emotionally, and energetically.
Our choice points are critical; they can bring freedom for the future or bondage to the past. Our focus is powerful; it can heal or harm. Our choice to create from the ashes can become the release from suffering. These critical choices are all available for everyone in the collective. We can heal together with each choice; We Are One.
Thankfully, we are entering into a new world and a new way of being, where we each have the power to choose a new pathway of peace and empowerment. We, as a collective, can come together to create new paths – physically, emotionally, and energetically.
Our choice points are critical; they can bring freedom for the future or bondage to the past. Our focus is powerful; it can heal or harm. Our choice to create from the ashes can become the release from suffering. These critical choices are all available for everyone in the collective. We can heal together with each choice; We Are One.

Rather than focusing on the unfathomable event we are focused on new events unfolding. Rather than remembering the unspeakable details, we now speak about that which lifts the heart and mind. Rather than repeating or reliving the trauma in our mental and emotional bodies, we are transforming our hearts, minds, and the Earth where the trauma occurred. Rather than being a family of victims we are now a family who has chosen a path of empowerment and peace.
We could have launched this website in January, when the "anniversary" of the fork in the family road occurred, but we chose a new path of empowerment and peace this time. We trust that by choosing this, we will demonstrate to others how powerful our point of focus is. We can, as a collective, choose to focus on the life chapters that were filled with celebration, friendship, joy, laughter, and love.
We don’t need to dread a date on the calendar anymore.
We can, as a collective, flip the script.

Rather than focusing our precious energy on the form of physical or emotional trauma, or how a loved one was tragically taken from this world, we can focus on healing on all levels of existence. The new way of being focuses on how we can heal hearts, minds, soil, and souls.
This choice point and practice is the heart and soul of The Lighting Up the Darkness™ project.
